The interaction between parents/carer and staff is vital in the education journey of every student at Kensington Secondary School.
Parent/carer participation is encouraged in the development of Individual Education Plans. Individual Education Plan meetings are held between teachers and parents/carers and other interst groups (e.g. therapists, local area coordinator) at the start of each semester. Reports are sent home at the end of the Term 2 and Term 4.
School Board
The school board is a legally formed body that, in partnership with our staff, has powers to set and monitor the key directions of our school. It is the major governing body of the school and oversees the school’s performance. In essence, the role of school board is one of setting the long term future for the school and maintaining oversight (not management) of the school’s operation. It is not about managing the school – that is the job of the principal. It is about providing additional expertise to help the school achieve the best outcomes for our students.
The board consists of the principal, representatives from the staff, a P&C representative and elected parents and community representatives. The current membership is: two staff (including the principal) and five parent/community members.

Kensington Secondary School uniform
The uniform at Kensington Secondary School is a navy polo shirt with a white school logo and in winter is a matching navy jacket with a full or half zip. In consideration of individual student needs the wearing of uniforms may be negotiated.
School polo shirts and school jumpers are available for purchase from the school on behalf of the P&C. Order forms are available to download or may be collected from the front office.
Students must wear dark trousers/slacks/cargo pants/shorts or jeans. These can be purchased at any store as the school does not carry any.
Uniforms are sent home in the student’s bag at the earliest possible convenience, after the order has been placed and paid for. Uniforms will not be released until payment in FULL has been received. Please make payment to Kensington Secondary School P&C.
