The Work Ready Program (WRP) is a simulated Supported Employment environment facilitated on Campus, exposes students to the concepts of work. This includes what an employer will expect from an employee, appropriate workplace behaviours, development of awareness of safety at work, this includes working safety and being able to recognise safety equipment and signs, evacuation procedures and what to do in an emergency, where the assembly point is. All these items are required before participating in the off Campus Work Place Learning Program.
Skill development is also a vital part of the WRP learning how to complete specific work tasks, these tasks are taken directly from host supported employment work sites, these tasks assist with memory development, problem solving, concept development e.g. up down left or right and both gross and fine motor skills within each student’s individual abilities.
Isabelle developing coordination and both gross and fine motor skills.
A new and improved Work Skills Room has been acquired on campus to operate our Work Ready Program more effectively. We have moved into a larger room which is now even more like a simulated work environment for our young people. Please click on the link below for more information
